This stage ensures all corrections are accurate and catches any spelling error overlooked by the copy editor, ensuring the text is fully polished and error-free. Proofreaders review for obvious grammar, spelling, and punctuation mistakes, but won't alter your sentences or suggest rewording except in rare cases. We also check the formatting and make sure there are no mistakes in pagination or font size. It is expected that the author has already had a professional copy edit performed and that the manuscript is considered clean and ready to publish before hiring a proofreader.
